School Board

Skip Colvin, Board President

Mr. Colvin was born and raised in Texarkana. He attended Texarkana College and East Texas State University at Texarkana, graduating with a BAAS Degree with an emphasis on Management and Marketing. He also attended Grace School of Theology.  Currently, Mr. Colvin serves as Market President for MidSouth Bank located in Texarkana, TX. Mr. Colvin is committed to Christian Education that is based on a Biblical Worldview.  He believes the next generation must be prepared for the enemy and a spiritual battle, that they must be strong in their faith, and they must be able to defend and give a defense for what they believe.

 

Todd Jones, Vice President

An Ashdown, Arkansas native, Mr. Jones attended Ouachita Baptist University where he graduated with a BA major in Biblical Studies. Mr. Jones and his family have been missionaries in Botswana, Africa, and he is now the Human Resource Manager at BWI Companies. He and his wife Lisa have three children, Landon (a freshman at John Brown University), Kendall (a sophomore at TCS) and Caden (a TCS fourth grader). He now serves in various lay capacities as a member at Beech Street Baptist Church. He is committed to TCS and understands that Christian education is an extension of the teaching that begins in the home and that all facets of education should be carried out with a biblical worldview with the foundation of God as the Giver & Sustainer of all knowledge, wisdom & understanding. 

 Laura Smith, Secretary

Mrs. Smith has served on the TCS school board for five years. She and her husband Steve and their two sons have attended Trinity Baptist since their move to Texarkana in 2000. Their oldest son Colton graduated from TCS in 2015 and Colby is a freshman at TCS. Mrs. Smith has served as a family nurse practitioner for 18 years and is employed at the Texarkana Care Clinic specializing in internal medicine and infectious disease. We chose Trinity Christian School for the small class size. We remain at TCS because we value Kingdom Education.

 

 

Mindy Brocato, Member

Mrs. Brocato, her husband Nick, and their three children have been long time members of Trinity Baptist Church and the TCS community. Their oldest daughter will graduate from TCS in the spring of 2017, their son Griffin is in 8th grade, and their youngest, 2nd grader Presley, plans to follow in her sister’s footsteps, becoming a cheerleader and TCS graduate. Mrs. Brocato works as an RN at the Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center, and volunteers with the junior high EPIC ministry at TBC. She firmly believes that the foundation her children have received at Trinity has allowed them to openly express their faith and has strengthened their relationship with Christ.

Joey Martin, Member

Mr. Martin is the Owner of the Express Employment Professionals franchise of Texarkana, USA, which has served the community for over 27 years, and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma. He and his wife Jamie, a Nurse Practitioner in Texarkana, have two boys who attend TCS. Mr. Martin’s passion for Trinity comes from the commitment and love of the teachers, coaches and administrators who have provided the tools and education his sons need to be successful in the world as Christian adults.

 

 Bryan Powell, Member

Mr. Powell is a business owner (Bryan Powell Drywall, Inc.) and rancher. He and his wife Kathleen and their three children have been members of Trinity Baptist Church for over 20 years, and all three of his children have attended TCS. His daughter Sarah graduated as Valedictorian in 2014, and Kaitlyn will graduate from TCS in the spring of 2017. His son Jared now attends Trice Elementary School. Mr. Powell has been active in the school community for many years, and he also serves in the EPIC Junior High Ministry at TBC.

                 

  Denise Wallace, Member

Mrs. Wallace is employed with the Office of the Attorney General/State of Texas where she manages the local Texarkana office.  She is married to Glen Wallace, and they have two children Her son Jake attended TCS for 13 years, and her daughter Meg has been at TCS since K3.  The Wallaces  are members of Trinity Baptist Church where Mrs. Wallace serves in the Senior High Youth ministry and music ministry. She served on the school board from 2007-2010, and has been active again since September 2010. Says Mrs. Wallace, “My great passion for Trinity Christian School continues to push me to serve in a manner that would assist TCS as we strive for excellence. “
